mambo takes up all my mental bandwidth. I started out in the cms world
with typo3 and that was horrible - the docs suck, the interface is
horrible and it's all in german... I didn't want to learn a new
language so the python and ruby based stuff was out... phpNuke seemed
too primitive and drupal looked ok, but mambo had more oomph to it
(modules, user community, real world use)

and then mambo went thru all that trouble....

when joomla 1.5 gets released, I think I will be switching over our
sites to it. Knowing what I know now, I'd start out on joomla (or at
least wait till 1.5 b/c it's a huge jump over 1.0 AFAIK) - the mambo
code base is a pain (joomla has been reworked), more effort is going
into joomla / mambo has stalled and I understand the technical issues
behind CMSs better now, so I think mambo is a little creaky. I
understand drupal is supposed to be better designed but I don't much
like the back end interface.... and it's not as built up as joomla or
mambo (community etc)

I've never touched wordpress, have looked a bit into serendipity, but w/
our sites I need the flexibility to easily develop our own modules and
the blogish type stuff doesn't have that i think (all blogs seem to use
the same layout....)
